This story was not what I expected, that can be a good thing. I liked the story, and I liked the setting in Scotland. I honestly would not like a smart house myself, it did serve as a good setting. I was not sure what to think of "Rowan" but she seemed pretty much like someone I would know. Honestly ?? Who leaves their kids with someone they hardly know ??
There were not a lot of plot twists. They were not needed for this book. I did have most of it figured out except a things. It did have that creep book feel. I would say it was better then Dark, Dark Wood, but not as good as Woman in Cabin Ten. With Ruth Ware it tends to be a hit or miss kinda thing.
It was an enjoyable read, and kept me interested.
