4/5
This is my first book by this author and find it intriguing. It was a slasher film in print. Loved it was biased on the 80's slashers. I liked it.When I first started reading this book, I immediately thought of Riley Sager's Final Girls. I thought it would have the same story, same feel and of course the same final girls. This was not the case. The Final Girl Support Group was actually character biased on the 1980s slashers. I guessed them all, or at least I think I did. The characters have the same first name as the actress that portrayed them in the slasher. To me this added to the book. I did have to look one or two up. This is where I realized it may not be the obvious main character, like Halloween, our girl's name Dani. I was thinking Jamie Lee Curtis. Was not the case as you can see. Anyways, I found this to be an interesting part of the book. Would like to have had more of the Dream King. Didn't ruin the book but I saw all of them when they came to the theater.
Let's talk about some of the snark. Loved it. I did also like the action of this book, great job on that. I was not bored at all. The story gets moving and keeps on going. I do admit I had some of it figured out. This was also an interest part of the book. It was different, and it kept moving.
I liked the characters and the fact the were not perfect and showed how each of their experiences changed them. One actually is way out there, but found it interesting as well. Some even show growth. Most of all the support they seemed to give each other.
Defiantly, gonna I will read his other book, The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires.
Favorite Character ?? Fine of course
