The Last House on Needless Street

5/5

Wow, wow. Mind blown. What a ride this book is. I will say that it may not be for everyone. Some parts may seem confusing but I found it more interesting instead.

This book had my attention from beginning to end. I did not want to put it down. I was in the edge of my seat, and also on the verge of tears. The author had a way of telling a story.

Loved most of the characters and was shocked at others. Though I have to admit Olivia was probably my favorite. They all have something to teach.

The author played on one of the biggest fears people have, and I admit, I felt as I was there and if I were in that situation I probably would have freaked out.

Once you think you things figured out, you don't. I don't think anyone has completely figured out the book. I will I loved all the questions were answered. The afterword was worthy as well.

This book was incredible, and at the same time heartbreaking. Well worth the read.

Pretty Things

2/5

Wow, this one was a great disappointment. Took me forever to finish it.

This is another book every time I picked it up to read I fell asleep. Didn't matter the time of day. Very slow uneventful story. Even the action at the end was lackluster.

I didn't really like the characters and thought them to be selfish and uninspiring.

Almost did not finish, but stayed with it.

Final Girl Support Group

4/5

This is my first book by this author and find it intriguing. It was a slasher film in print. Loved it was biased on the 80's slashers. I liked it.

When I first started reading this book, I immediately thought of Riley Sager's Final Girls. I thought it would have the same story, same feel and of course the same final girls. This was not the case. The Final Girl Support Group was actually character biased on the 1980s slashers. I guessed them all, or at least I think I did. The characters have the same first name as the actress that portrayed them in the slasher. To me this added to the book. I did have to look one or two up. This is where I realized it may not be the obvious main character, like Halloween, our girl's name Dani. I was thinking Jamie Lee Curtis. Was not the case as you can see. Anyways, I found this to be an interesting part of the book. Would like to have had more of the Dream King. Didn't ruin the book but I saw all of them when they came to the theater.

Let's talk about some of the snark. Loved it. I did also like the action of this book, great job on that. I was not bored at all. The story gets moving and keeps on going. I do admit I had some of it figured out. This was also an interest part of the book. It was different, and it kept moving.

I liked the characters and the fact the were not perfect and showed how each of their experiences changed them. One actually is way out there, but found it interesting as well. Some even show growth. Most of all the support they seemed to give each other.

Defiantly, gonna I will read his other book, The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires.

Favorite Character ?? Fine of course

The Matzah Ball

4/5
I liked this one. After reading a heavy book I needed something light and fun.

This book had parts where I was laughing so much. It was fun. I liked the characters and tho I'm not Jewish I enjoyed some of the things written about their culture.

I also liked how she handled the chronic illness. I can absolutely understand it. The spoon method, the advice, the non understanding. Especially those "experts" who has no clue. Takes one chronic illness to understand another. She also brought awareness to this peticular disease. That's a good thing.

And of course the ending, was good. Maybe typical but I liked it.

Three Sisters

5/5
Truly incredible. This book, broke my heart, cheered me and taught me to remember. We need to remember this time in history so we do not repeat it. This story is incredible and to make even more so, it is a true story. To top it off they, the three sisters knew Lale and Gita from "The Tattooist of Auschwitz" It's important with this book to read the Author's notes, the afterwards, and see the pictures that are included.

Heather Morris has done a great job with all three of these books. What will she write next ??

So many times reading this story tears filled my eyes. This was a story of so much pain and perseverance. How did they do it ?? How did others treat people like this ??

What is also hard to see, in some countries they went from Dictator Hitler to the dictator Stalin. Trading one bad guy for another. Reading about counties ruled by Stalin were worse. Communism.

Very moving book.

Last Girl Ghosted

3/5
This is a first for me with this author. While it wasn't a bad story it wasn't a great one either.

The story dragged in many places and it was not needed. The information was useless. It also took me a time to get into the story. And then I wasn't really hooked. Was not a fan of the COVID in my story.

I liked the concept of the story and I liked most of the characters. The and in some spots it seemed unrealistic. The internet and the information on it does seem to be easy enough to relate to. We do google.
